Venice Carnival is one of the most famous celebrations in Italy, held in Venice, the Italian water capital. It is said that in 1162 AD, in celebration of the defeat of the Patriarch of Aquileia, people flocked to the Piazza San Marco to dance and celebrate the carnival, which later became the official event of the Renaissance.
